This year, we celebrated our past, honored the resilience of those we've helped, and took bold steps toward the future. Each milestone, victory, and challenge has been a reminder of the power of community and collaboration.
Since we opened in 2009, we've had the privilege of welcoming more than 30 innocent people home. This year
– our 15th anniversary
– we celebrated these homecomings, honored our freed and exonerated clients, and together cast a vision for the next 15 years and beyond. We were especially proud to present the JoAnne Epps Hero of Justice Award to all Project clients in recognition of their sustained fight for justice.
In 2024, we welcomed home 5 clients and resolved a total of 8 cases. See some of their stories here:
With your support, we are able to support clients like Harold, William, James, Jeff, and Akeem as they transition home. See some of our community's reflections on the powerful meaning of homecoming in this short video shared during this year's 15th anniversary events:
In addition, thanks to the incredible generosity of a group of anonymous donors, we launched the 15th Anniversary Freedom Fund, which matched new and increased donations dollar for dollar up to $50,000. This support makes a lasting impact and helps to secure the future of the Project as we move into the new year.
As we look ahead, we are filled with hope and determination, and we're grateful to have you by our side every step of the way.
