Spotlight: Eddie Ohlbaum Volunteer Award Recipient Rachel Satinsky

We are pleased to present the 2025 Edward D. Ohlbaum Volunteer Award to Rachel Satinsky.

Eddit Ohlbaum was a beloved professor and legal advocate, and an early supporter of the Project's work in Pennsylvania. We present this award to recognize outstanding work by Project pro bono partners, and we are proud to honor Eddie's legacy with the presentation of this year's award to long-standing and highly committed volunteer Rachel Satinsky.

Currently at Littler Mendelson P.C., Rachel began work with the Project while part of a team at Cozen O'Connor which worked with us on Tyrone Jones' case. Tye was released in 2016 and Rachel has remained involved ever since in his efforts to commute his sentence and obtain Conviction Integrity Unit review.

Rachel is a tireless advocate for her clients and a strong partner with our staff attorneys, always willing to use her talents and network to help improve outcomes for the wrongly convicted. Recently, she made it possible for us to partner with the Wardrobe to benefit reentry clients. She has also facilitated a connection with her current firm, Littler Mendelson, to advise the Project on matters outside of direct work with our clients.

Rachel's most recent work with us helped to bring Jeffrey Dawkins home in 2024. For our special award presentation on May 8th, we interviewed Jeff on camera. We look forward to sharing, in his own words, what he has to say about Rachel and his unstoppable legal team.
